This morning (Labor Day) we went and picked butter beans at a church members house. Oh my word, that is all I can say. Some of these butter bean plants had 50 and 60 pods on them and they were beautiful. It was hard work and the girls got just a taste of how people use to have to pick their food before all the great machines that do most of it now. When we left we had 2 1/2 grocery bags full of beans to be shelled. Above is the finished product, now to freeze them to use during the winter months. We have been richly blessed by this couple in church affairs and by their generosity of giving of their garden.
