On 12/9 we had one of the most horrible events happen that possibly could to your home. We had a 101 ft. white oak fall on the house. It came down on Isabella's room and cracked the wall from the roof to the foundation and put 3 holes in our roof. However, we found out that was not the extent of our damage. Travis found that 3 of truss we broken and we had extensive damage to the side of the house. After our contractor came out and looked the house over again here is the damage we found.
3 truss broke due to impact
3 cracked from the shock
1 huge hole in the front of the roof
2 smaller holes in the back of the roof
1 large crack from roof to foundation
exposed wiring
Gazebo completely bent
Storage container lid cracked and broken
And our best one of all....this past Tuesday I did laundry and my normal routine to find that we had raw sewage backing up in our toilets and bathtubs. (AAAHHH!!!!) When the tree fell it cracked a section of our sewer pipe running into the house. Luckily the plumber was able to fix it without having to cut into the foundation. So after all is said and done the work to fix the house has begun and will continue while we are in Knoxville. It should be finished by the time we get back, just in time for us to move.
