Celebrating Birthdays

I have to apologize I am very behind on blogging so over the next few post I'll catch up.

On November 12 we celebrated my Dad's and Travis's birthdays.  This was really special this year since this is the first time in almost 5 years that we have been home for their birthdays. We shared dinner, cake and presents. As you can see from the pictures everyone loved cake time.

Dad (aka Grand) and his girls

Travis (aka Uncle T) and the girls

Emma Grace loves anything to do with
birthdays and cakes. However, she really
loves the cake.....can you tell!

Since she couldn't continue to lick the cake she
grabbed her spoon and went to work.

One of the birthday boys.

The other birthday boy.

My dad "acting" surprised by his present.
This is typically for him!

My beautiful big girl.

The little girls were dying to help open the gifts.

My brother took the opportunity to
get some snuggle time with his
little boy.

More presents and all the girls to open them.

This is what my parents got Travis. A much needed
gas blower/vac. (It has already come in handy.)

Notice the chainsaw above looks a little rough.
Travis has had it for years. It has cut up many trees
over its life time. But it took a beating the other day
it couldn't survive. Travis and a guy from church went
to one of the local Baptist camps just east of us to do
some storm work. Cutting up trees, cutting down trees,
hauling off brush, etc. While they were down in a gully
doing some work they had left their saws on top of a hill
just off the path so they wouldn't be in the way. Well....
a gentleman in a bobcat didn't see them and completely
ran over them both. Both saws we crushed. Travis
brought his home and was able to get it started so
he took it to a friends shop to have the bar straightened
and see if the guy could get it back in working condition.
On Sunday Nov. 13 we had a dinner at church and
talked a few new ministries that are starting. Just
before everything was over one of the deacons said
he needed to talk about something. He spoke for a
minute about the work he and Travis had done at the
camp and what had happened. All of a sudden they
brought out the saw below. Travis was stunned!
He (nor I) had no clue that they had done this for
him. It is such a blessing. The card read, "from
a few men in the church". It blessed our hearts
over and over that they (the men) were kind enough
to get him a new saw.

Reading cards from church members. He was blessed
over and over by church members and their love for him.
