2010 has started off with a bang

For the Henderson's 2010 meant a lot of change. We moved just before the end of 2009 and started 2010 in a new home, a new city and with a new church family. 2010 also meant a change of job for Travis and myself. For Travis it meant working 2 jobs would be ending. He finished up with Starbucks on 12/18 and at Mt. Hermon 12/20. Only to be blessed to stand behind the pulpit as Senior Pastor of Potecasi Baptist Church on 1/3/2010. What an honor it is for "us" to serve Potecasi Baptist as our church. We have been blessed to have wonderful members who already feel like family. It has been nice for Travis to walk across the yard to his office (which saves gas) and be able to come home for lunch. If you are close sometime please stop by and see us, we would love to have you visit with us at home or at church. As for me, my job has changed as well. I have gone from a Stay at Home Mom to a Stay at Home Mom who teaches....well home school. Starting this Monday morning we start school. I think we are both excited to get school started. I will also be starting Olivia on a few simple Kindergarten concepts and then she will start school for a short time block after summer. (I have picked out a wonderful curriculum called My Father's World for her. Well for both of them come fall.) Please pray that I will keep Isabella going on a great track of learning and that I will be able to convey what she needs to know in a way she understands.

2010 has also brought a lot of house changes as well. We were so blessed that the church wanted to update a few things in the house for us. It started with painting our kitchen and the girls bathroom. Then our kitchen floor. They came and laid it on Wednesday and it looks beautiful. (it is swift lock flooring) Then they changed out our gas heaters so that they will kick on with a thermostat. (and let me just say they are wonderful and the 2 we have will heat the whole house) On our own we updated a few things. We had to cut a few sets of cabinets off to fit our fridge and over the range microwave and Travis is so handy he was able to do all of it. (including running a new electric box and hanging our microwave) He also built me a little shelf beside our microwave to hold our spices we use a lot. The kitchen looks totally different. With all that done there is only a few things left to do. Travis found a couple of holes in the pipe the connects to our sink and dishwasher under the house. So those have a temporary fix on them. (thank goodness since my sink was getting full)
